Anvar Anvarov wins Asian Games long jump bronze
Uzbekistan long jumper Anvar Anvarov claimed Asian Games bronze with 8.06 metres, finishing just one centimetre from silver in Aichi-Nagoya.
Uzbekistan long jumper Anvar Anvarov won the bronze medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games with a best effort of 8.06 metres. Just one centimetre separated him from silver in one of the closest field-event finals of the athletics programme.
8.06 metres and an Asian Games podium
The men’s long jump final took place on 28 September. China’s Shi Yuhao won gold with 8.17 metres, India’s Murali Sreeshankar took silver with 8.07 metres, and Anvarov secured bronze for Uzbekistan with 8.06 metres.
Anvar finished only one centimetre behind the silver medallist and 11 centimetres from gold, adding another athletics medal to Uzbekistan’s Asian Games campaign.
From Budapest to the Asian Games podium
Earlier in September, Anvarov finished fourth at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest with a jump of 7.94 metres.
In Aichi-Nagoya he improved that mark to 8.06 metres and reached the podium, completing a strong competitive progression over a demanding month.
The Belek camp was one stage of the preparation
In August and September, Anvarov held a training camp at Gloria Sports Arena in Belek, organised with the support of TravelSport. The programme brought together access to the athletics facilities, accommodation, logistics and recovery in one coordinated schedule.
The sporting result belongs to Anvar and his coaches. TravelSport’s role was to organise the conditions around their work so that the athlete and his team could focus on training and preparation.
