Ruslan Omarov on Maxim Sazhnev’s TravelSport training camp
Throws coach Ruslan Omarov explains how TravelSport coordinates facilities, equipment, accommodation and recovery while Maxim Sazhnev focuses on training at Gloria Sports Arena.

Kazakhstan throws coach Ruslan Omarov and discus thrower Maxim Sazhnev are continuing a focused training block with TravelSport in Belek. After approximately two weeks at camp, Omarov spoke about the team’s experience, the training conditions and the practical support that allows coach and athlete to concentrate on their work.
Two weeks centred on the training process
Sazhnev’s programme at Gloria Sports Arena combines event-specific throwing sessions with physical preparation and planned recovery between training days. Omarov says the athlete has been making strong progress during the current block, while the coach continues to manage the technical and physical programme.
The purpose of TravelSport’s role is to keep the environment around that programme predictable: facility access, transfers, accommodation, meals, equipment requests and recovery appointments are coordinated within one camp structure.
Why the team chose TravelSport
Omarov explains that the decision followed recommendations from colleagues and positive feedback from teams that had already worked with TravelSport. For the coach, the experience has matched those recommendations: organisational questions have been handled without distracting from the training plan.
“We do not have to worry about anything. We come, train and enjoy the work,” Omarov says in the video.

Throwing equipment available when it was needed
One practical request concerned the implements needed for training. According to Omarov, the required discus and shot put equipment was provided promptly after the team raised the question.
For a throws camp, this detail is fundamental. The correct implements must be available at the right session so that the coach can follow the planned workload without replacing technical work with an improvised programme.
Recovery and the daily routine in one system
Omarov also highlights access to massage and scheduled recovery procedures, including shockwave sessions delivered by specialists when appropriate. An appointment system allows camp participants to choose a suitable time without waiting in a queue.
He also positively assessed the training base, accommodation and meals. Bringing these elements together reduces unnecessary organisational pressure and helps preserve a stable rhythm between training, recovery and rest.
The coach’s assessment of the camp
In the interview, Omarov describes TravelSport as a highly effective organisational team and says that requests and practical questions have been handled promptly throughout the stay. His recommendation is based on the complete experience of the camp rather than on one isolated service.
The sporting work remains in the hands of Maxim Sazhnev and his coach. TravelSport’s responsibility is to make sure that the conditions around that work—the facility, equipment, accommodation, meals, transport and recovery schedule—support the plan instead of interrupting it.
You train. We organise.
